Alex Halstead is a visual effects artist and filmmaker specialising in effects animation, simulation and look development.
For the past fifteen years Alex has brought his expertise and creativity to some of the world’s most iconic films, games and televison series. Working with award-winning teams and filmmakers at studios such as Industrial Light & Magic, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Method Studios, Animal Logic, Electronic Arts, among others.
After years of honing his craft as a senior artist Alex transitioned into creative supervision in 2016, overseeing teams as a Lead Effects Technical Director, Effects Supervisor and Head of Effects.
Beyond production work, Alex shares his knowledge and has spoken at international conferences such as Siggraph about his experience in the industry.
Alex is currently an Effects Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic, Sydney.
